Welcome back to Industry Infiltration, a series of highlights on those in the music business who are helping pave the way for LGBTQ representation.

Here are this week’s LGBTQ+ music executives and writers who are killing the game right now and what they are up to:

John Farrey

Label Relations Manager at Amazon Music

At Amazon Music, Farrey serves as the co-lead and founder of the Amazon Music’s Diversity Action Team. He has launched PROUD, a playlist highlighting queer artists with exclusive originals and has brought exposure to artists like Years & Years, beabadoobee, Claud, Arlo Parks and more. Farrey has led many projects, but most notably launched Amazon Music HD, providing higher quality audio to music listeners.

Kenneth Jarvis III

A&R manager, Republic Records

Not only has Jarvis made strides in finding emerging talent and being a liaison between artists and Republic, he has coordinated some of the biggest projects in music including Ariana Grande’s thank u, next (2019). In a quote from Billboard, Jarvis shares, “I wasn’t sure if [my sexuality] was something I should be open about, but when you’re walking into rooms with creatives, they can see when you’re not comfortable.” Jarvis has helped pave the way for future queer A&Rs.

Teddy Geiger

Songwriter/Producer/Artist, Big Deal Music

Originally from Rochester, NY, Geiger is a multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer and artist. She has penned hits for acclaimed artists across many genres including P!nk, Maroon 5, Anne-Marie, Dej Loaf, Leon Bridges, Christina Aguilera, One Direction, Tiesto, Matoma, Empire of the Sun, Niall Horan, 5 Seconds of Summer, Birdy, DJ Snake and DNCE.

She played an integral role on the Billboard #1 self-titled Shawn Mendes album producing and co-writing 11 tracks. Without a doubt, Geiger has made an impact on popular music in America.
